Information Technology

In line with the National Program for Digital Transformation 2020, the largest project of its kind in the Kingdom was launched to transform the Resource Planning System into the Cloud Computing Platform, which was completed by the end of the year. The Portal and Sales systems have also been transformed into a Cloud Computing Platform. This project has contributed to raising the efficiency of the performance of employees and the integration of all systems within a high-potential electronic system.

Organic Agriculture

NADEC continued its application of the organic farming program to palm trees in the projects of Haradh and Wadi Ad-Dawasir, and the olive and fruit trees in Al-Jawf Project.

This is supported by the cow farms and supply of natural fertilizers at large quantities that contribute to the organic farming operations.

The organic farming certificate is renewed and obtained from the awarding company (CEREC) on annual basis, after completion of inspection in the production sites under control of the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture.

Furthermore, NADEC was registered with the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movement (IFOAM) as leading company in the field of organic production in KSA.

Cow Farms

The Department of Cow Farms at NADEC has paid attention to improving production efficiencyto increase cow’s productivity and quality of raw milk by raising the level of technical management and health care for the herd with the support of highly skilled technical staff of agricultural engineers and veterinarians and continuous training on nutrition and dispositions.

In 2018, the following productive indicators were achieved:

  • Herd census: more than 78 thousand heads.
  • Raw milk: more than 1,155,000 liters of raw milk per day.
  • Number of births: more than 110 births per day.
  • Feeding quantity: More than 1300 tons of feed is consumed daily.
  • Milking operations: more than 100 thousand milking per day.
  • Quality: More than 300 daily tests for milk, feed and herd health.

Effective Milking Parlors

NADEC farms are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and milking parlors to enable the milking process to be carried out efficiently and smoothly to provide high quality dairy products. There are six farms with about 75,000 cows, in addition to 2 factories producing more than 1.5 million liters per day.

Calf Fattening Farm

Part of the calves produced by NADEC is received in the fattening plant in Hail project by production capacity of 14,000 head per year. In addition, wastes of this plant are used in manufacturing of Compost in the project and use of it in the fields, and can meet the demands of farmers at competitive prices.

Rationalization of Water Use

Perceiving the importance of irrigation water and to conserve this critical element, NADEC made huge efforts to rationalization water consumption in its various projects summarized as follows:

  • Assessment of the plant water needs using modern technologies (Enviroscan system, smart irrigation system and Dacom Plus System).
  • Use of drip irrigation system for the second season in the olive, potatoes and corn crops. The experience succeeded in reducing the consumption per hectare of water by almost 30%, while the production rates per hectare rose by 15%.
  • Continuing the application of state-of-the-art modern systems and technologies in rationalization of water and fertilizers, such as DACOM that produces early alarm to the crops department and measures the amounts of additional water and link them to the weather conditions and plant needs.
